রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুরকে অনুসরণ করে বলা যায় প্রতিটি- মানুষের মধ্যেই থাকে এক অতিরিক্ত সত্তা (surplus of Man) তার প্রকাশ ঘটে বিভিন্ন মাধ্যমে, একটি মাধ্যম হল অঙ্কন- রঙ তুলি। নিজেরই চেতনার রঙে রাঙিয়ে বস্তুকে তুলে ধরেন শিল্পী। তার এই- মন তীর্থেই প্রকাশ ঘটে শিল্পীর অতিরিক্ত সত্তার। এই সু-প্রকাশের জন্যই পৃথিবীটা সুন্দর হয়ে ওঠে আমাদের কাছে। ০৮/১১/২০১০

শিল্পকলা কারো দাসত্ব করে না। শিল্পী বাঁচে তার শিল্পকলাকে জড়িয়ে ধরে। তাই বলি শিল্প বাঁচবে, সবাই যামিনীরঞ্জন রায়, রামকিংকর, রদ্যা, দাভিঞ্চি, মাতিস হয় না। কিন্তু তাঁদের ছবির মূল্যায়ণ করার জন্যেও দরকার শিল্পীর চোখে যাদের আমরা দর্শক বলতে চাইছি। এই দর্শক তৈরীর মঞ্চ যদি গড়ে ওঠে তবে শিল্প তার যর্থাথ সম্মান পাবে। আমরা কি সেই মঞ্চ গড়ে দিতে পারিনা? একবার ভেবে দেখলে দোষ কি? ০৮/১১/২০১০
